#week2
Hey guys,
I hope that
you’re all fine, because we are!
This week,
we’ll take a look at the marketing strategy of the “Badisches Landesmuseum”, located in the castle
of Karlsruhe. It is one of the most active museums in Germany, its exhibitions
show artwork from prehistory ‘till 21st century.
The
Badisches Landesmuseum lately changed its whole marketing campaign, including
its corporate design. According to Katrin Lorbeer from the marketing team, the
old CD of the Landesmuseum wasn’t up-to-date anymore. Therefore, they changed
from a yellow silhouette of the castle to a white and yellow color scheme.
In addition to the exclusion of the castles picture, they also don’t
mention Karlsruhe in their marketing strategy anymore, although they are
located in the castle of Karlsruhe. So, we asked ourselves: Why do they exclude
their place of location from their CD? The answer is a very simple one. The
Landesmuseum isn’t exclusively located in Karlsruhe, and therefore, they
adapted their new marketing strategy not only to that single location in
Karlsruhe, but made it more general for all of their locations.
These two
changes mentioned before are not the only ones. For us, the biggest change they
made was, that they now have their ads filled with pictures of their exhibits.
They do great zooms into these exhibits, and sometimes they use blurred
pictures to create a feeling of desire in their customers minds, to visit the
museum and experience these blurred exhibits on their own.
In our opinion, the new marketing strategy of the Landesmuseum is way better than the old one. It looks much more respectable than the old design and is much more modern.
If you guys have any further questions to the Landesmuseum, feel free to comment below.
Next week, there will be waiting another museum for you, so stay tuned!
